Book Review – “How Bad Do You Want It?”

Book Review – “How Bad Do You Want It?”

If you know anything about endurance sports you know that they can be uncomfortable at times.  And if you know anything about people it’s that we generally try to avoid discomfort.  In this book the author, Matt Fitzgerald, does a fantastic job of weaving science into 12 real life stories about athletes, and how they were able to mentally push through their discomfort.  Each of the stories tackles a different athlete, and situation, and it sheds light upon a mental strength, or track, that each athlete was able to draw upon to help them go beyond what appeared to be possible.  In reading the book I was able to put together several strategies that I hope to be able to implement in not only my next racing season, but in my next tough training session.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to go beyond what they feel is their performance ceiling.

I’m challenged to find the motivation to even read a book, but I do find some strength in the motivation and dedication of others.
I’m going to keep small stepping it to my 2016 goals.

  2. Haven’t read this book by Fitzgerald, but “Racing Weight” was great, so I give “How Bad Do You Want It?” two thumbs up by proxy
